Naoki Yoshida Discusses The Release Of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood

Naoki Yoshida, as Final Fantasy XIV producer and director, he discusses the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood as well as the annual Fan Festival Events, which take place three times a year. He’s also shared some teasers on what fans can expect of Final Fantasy XIV in 2018. Yoshida shares the first major update of the year, patch 4.2, which is due at the end of January 2018 as mentioned in the LIVE letter this past December.

Yoshida also mentions that plans for the FFXIV Fan Festival 2018-2019 are well underway, with a year’s worth of preparation going into the event. 2018 is the year of the dog, and Square Enix decided to go the super-cute way, granting players black and white versions of the ” Inu Kabuto”, with some absolutely adorable Shiba Inu on top. We also get a stuffed dog with traditional Japanese shrine decorations for our houses.

Yoshida added that the team plans to do more than hold Fan Festivals, teasing that there are plans in motion for another event over a year fro now, though it remains to be seen what will actually be in store for fans of the game. The Final Fantasy XIV 4.2 update will bring players to Doma for a new chapter in the main story. The update will include plenty of new content and tweaks.
